St Mary’s Chirk
About us
This church is in the centre of the town of Chirk which is close to the English-Welsh border and is well supported by the community and visitors. It is open daily and has historical connections with the nearby Chirk Castle which is now a National Trust property. The church dates back many hundreds of years and has a font that is dated 1662. There are strong links with the nearby Church in Wales school at Pentre. There is an active eco church group working towards their Gold award and a bellringing team. St Mary’s recently featured on Country File by installing nesting spaces for swifts and house martins in the tower.
